@Karen: Yes, he is doing pretty well! He's on doxycycline now, to treat the inflammation in his gut, and it is doing an AMAZING job, even though I know it is like terrible for a living being to be on antibiotics long-term and also it's giving him yeast infections like every 2 weeks. It is worth it!
We're actually experimenting with keeping him on a low dose of doxy indefinitely, because it's made such a great difference in his stomach pain. But of course it comes with its own set of problems, so once again we're on the Piney treatment seesaw.
When Piney came to live with us, we didn't know that within a couple of years he would flourish into the allergic-to-everything, IBD-having, aggressive-to-strangers little hellhound that he is today. He enjoys fetch, chewing and meat. His favorite color is red. His lucky number is 3. Nickname: Down Payment on an Apartment.

Very cute, but what's with the facial hair?!
How cute! Piney is looking sleek and well - is it true?
@Jon: I think it's cute!

Sometimes you make the least-awful choice, particularly in medical issues. I'm glad to hear it is helping and things are better now.
