Not-So-Fast Friends

I wish you could have seen Piney at his training session with Jolanta today. When she walked into the dog run where we were already playing, he ran up to her, tail wagging, eyes lit up. Then he was all soft eyes and sweet flirtation with her for the rest of the lesson, and a bit of a walk home. That’s what you get when you give an anxious dog some time to get used to a new person on his own terms. So there’s some good news for you for once!

We talk about anxious dogs all the time. In our yard we have a "Dog in Yard" sign, so visitors, meter readers... know that Chester may be in the yard. No one gets anxious anymore--dogs or vistors!!!
